League Rules

  1.  Out of Bounds – Out of bounds is marked by white stakes.  They are aligned with the houses that surround the course.  If your ball goes past the white stakes, you may retrieve your ball.  Then you will drop your ball as close as possible to where it crossed the white stakes within two club lengths.  Add a one stroke penalty to your score on this hole.
  2. Water Hazards – All water hazards are marked with red or yellow stakes.  Same rules apply as out of bounds.  If possible retrieve your ball from the water hazard but if not drop a new ball within two club lengths of where your ball went into the hazard.  Exceptions: Holes H3, V5 & V7 there is a drop area.  That means if you hit your ball into the the hazard on these holes, you may go to the other side of the hazard and drop your ball in the drop zone. Add a one stroke penalty to your score on this hole.
  3. Winter Rules – You may improve your lie in the fairway or the rough only.  You can only do so within one foot of where your ball has come to rest.  Also you may not change whether you are in the rough or fairway.  You cannot improve your lie in sand bunkers or other hazards.
  4. Teeing Ground – Everyone must tee off from the Green Tees.  You cannot tee off from in front of the markers or the side of them.  You must be in between the markers and no further than two club lengths.  On occasion the green tee markers will be moved around to different tee boxes for maintenance reasons.  You must tee off from wherever they are located.
  5. Whiffs – If at any time you attempt to hit the ball and do not you must count that as one stroke.  Likewise if you attempt to hit the ball and barely make contact it still counts as a stroke.
  6. Sand Bunkers – As a local rule, you may remove stones from our sand bunkers.  As we are rebuilding our bunkers, some will also be considered ground under repair.  Those will be marked with either a sign or a white circle around the area.  Also, when there is heavy rain, they may become filled with water.  If your ball clearly goes into the bunker filled with water, you may take a free drop outside of the bunker without penalty.
  7. Scoring - There will be special scoring for the league this season.  Maximum number of strokes per hole will be double par.  That means when you get to the double amount of strokes per designation  (i.e. par is 3 and you hit your 6th shot) you put that score on the card and move on to the next hole.  If your playing partner(s) have not reached that mark, pick your ball up and you can move to the green until they are finished.
